WASHINGTON (August 28, 2003) - Undiscovered gospel artists from all across the country are competing for the latest chance of stardom and an opportunity to fulfill their dreams in the first installment of the new gospel reality series Gospel Dream, which will premiere on BET Sunday, September 21 at 9 a.m. ET during the normal timeslot filled by BOBBY JONES GOSPEL. BET's very own Dr. Bobby Jones along with national gospel recording artist, Vickie Winans, and noted inspirational playwright, Tyler Perry will host the one hour special.

The talent search spin-off was the brainchild of Bishop Paul S. Morton, presiding Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International and Elvin Ross, accomplished composer/producer for many popular urban theatrical productions. Morton and Ross respectively serve as the show's Senior Executive Producer and Executive Producer.

"I'm consistently witnessing untapped talent in the various churches that I visit all over the country", said Bishop Morton. "I thought that there should be an outlet for the many gifted individuals that have such raw talent and passion for gospel music. Recognizing the latest phenomenon of reality television, we developed the Gospel Dream concept and sought out the most effective vehicle for nationwide exposure." Ross added, "Due to their established Gospel programming line-up, we are confident that debuting the program on BET was a sound choice."

BET airs an extensive slate of Gospel programming which includes BET MORNING INSPIRATION, BOBBY JONES GOSPEL; an award-winning Gospel favorite featuring contemporary and traditional artists hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones, VIDEO GOSPEL; spotlighting the best in music videos, LIFT EVERY VOICE; an inspirational music and artist interview segment, GOSPEL COLLECTION; a concert performance show, and LET'S TALK CHURCH; a religious music and talk show also hosted by popular crusader Dr. Bobby Jones. Gospel programming can be seen on BET daily Monday - Friday at 4:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.; Saturdays at 4:00 a.m.; and throughout the day on Sundays.
